I made some fishing bobbers, some people call them “floats,” from some old wine corks using my homemade, drill-powered lathe.
Supplies (Amazon):
Bobbin – http://amzn.to/1GLHuhP
Gesso – http://amzn.to/1GJ7jy3
My favorite neon orange paint – http://amzn.to/1JtMcXt
Great idea, have some corks I was keeping to do some fishing projects with but didn’t have any direction , so now I do. Thanx.
I was thinking of using hollow tubes instead of the dowels so you would have a slip bobber , would save time and materials doing the thread coil thing.
Fantastic! I’m sure that I can’t make your lathe, even with your instructions. But I think I could manually create the bobbers. I’m glad to see that they will float with all the coating. Thanks for showing the paint type and process so that my paint will not wash away. I can’t wait to start!
