Homemade Ukulele

I made a homemade ukulele for my nephew, Judd. It’s intermediate between a cigar box instrument and a traditionally made one in terms of build quality and complexity.

  1. Hi
Thank you for your fantastic video HOMEMADE UKULELE. We are in the process of making it for my sons project in school. We need to order the Tuning pegs and the link you have is NOT AVAILABLE any more – Can you recommend another link – I want to order the correct pegs so we can complete this project on time – THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

  2. Finished one today, used cherry neck, mahogany sides, 1/8” BB top and bottom, overall depth 2-3/4”, nut and saddle from snake wood (very dense wood), 8 coats of Tung oil, tuners from CB Gitty, Aquila strings.
My wife regularly plays a Kala concert size, however once the strings were stretched, and tuned she played this one for awhile, likes it very much, sounds great and will be taking it to her next jam session. Thanks for the plans.

  4. Thanks you’re Awesome! I’m from Iran and I learned a lot from you. When I saw your video at first I thought what if you guys were aware about our experiences in making our traditional instruments like “Setar”!? We’re good at one thing:getting a good sound.in other aspects you’re much more better than us.
    Thank you so much.
    Peace.
